U.S.-based Acadia Pharmaceuticals failed to meet the primary endpoint in a Phase 2 trial of its investigational treatment, remilifanserin, for Alzheimer’s disease psychosis.
The 60-mg group saw a 12.6-point reduction in hallucination and delusion assessment scores, but the placebo group also had a 10.4-point reduction, and the difference did not reach statistical significance.
Acadia Pharmaceuticals plans to advance the 60-mg dose into Phase 3 based on safety and efficacy signals.
