Claris Biotherapeutics has raised 177 billion won ($118 million) in a Series B financing to develop a treatment for limbal stem cell deficiency (LSCD), a rare eye disease that can cause blindness. Its candidate, CSB-001, is an eye drop targeting hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) that the company licensed from Japan’s Kringle Pharma in 2020. Claris plans to begin a late-stage clinical trial in patients with LSCD early next year using the funds.
