Columbia University researchers in the U.S. publish findings in Cell Analysis of RNA structural ensembles overcomes limitations of existing AI models to predict activity

A model has been developed to predict intracellular activity from RNA sequences, successfully predicting the activity of HIV RNA (TAR) and 27 variants. The achievement resulted from applying biophysical principles that analyze the full ensemble of RNA structures rather than a single structure. The model is expected to contribute to the development of RNA-targeted drugs and the elucidation of mechanisms underlying genetic diseases.
