Beacon Therapeutics said its gene therapy for X-linked retinitis pigmentosa (XLRP), laruparetigene jovaparvovec (laru-jova), met the primary endpoint in a late-stage trial.
The percentage of patients who showed an improvement of at least 15 letters on a low-luminance visual acuity test was 24% in the low-dose group and 31% in the high-dose group, compared with 0% in the control group.
Beacon plans to begin rolling regulatory submissions by the end of the year and disclose detailed data at a medical meeting in October.
