The Ministry of Health and Welfare has issued an advance notice of legislation to divide innovative pharmaceutical companies into leading and rising tiers.
Rising-tier companies with average annual sales of less than 100 billion won over the preceding 3 years must meet a research and development spending ratio of at least 7%.
Following the advance notice of legislation, the Ministry of Health and Welfare plans to launch a new certification application process to select rising-tier companies.
