Researchers at Xuzhou Medical University found that the KDM5B protein is a key factor in gastric cancer immune evasion that prevents CD8⁺ T-cell infiltration. The researchers were the first to identify a “vicious cycle” in which KDM5B produces lactate, which in turn reactivates KDM5B. They proposed a strategy using dual targeting of KDM5B to overcome resistance to anti-PD-L1 therapy.
