Researchers at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) in the United States found that a generative AI-designed binding protein outperformed existing treatments against BCMA, a target in multiple myeloma.
The researchers used two AI tools to generate approximately 1 million candidate binding proteins and then narrowed them to 100 to 200.
The binding protein completely suppressed tumor growth in a mouse model.
