The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) signed a memorandum of understanding with Indonesia’s Halal Product Assurance Agency to cooperate on halal product certification.
The cooperation follows the joint statement on a strategic partnership adopted by the two countries in March.
The MFDS plans to support South Korean companies’ entry into the market as mandatory halal certification for food and cosmetics takes effect Oct. 18.
