A research team led by Professor No-jun Seok at POSTECH has developed a metasurface biosensor that detects biomolecules without a spectrometer. After illuminating the sensor with a single-wavelength laser, the device measures molecular binding by tracking the movement of a dark line in an image.
The research team expects the platform to be used in point-of-care diagnostics, including infectious disease testing and cancer biomarker detection.
