Germany’s BioNTech and U.S.-based Genentech have halted the Phase 2 trial of BNT122, a colorectal cancer vaccine candidate. An independent data monitoring committee confirmed that more deaths occurred in the vaccine group than in the observation group. BioNTech will continue another Phase 2 trial combining the vaccine with an immunotherapy.
