Starting Aug. 1, veterans eligible for veterans’ medical care will also receive support for dementia screening and treatment management costs at dementia care centers. Although they had previously been excluded, interagency consultations will extend the benefit to an additional 39,000 people, with support of up to 150,000 won for diagnostic testing and 110,000 won for differential testing. To prevent duplicate support, visits to veterans’ hospitals and contracted hospitals are excluded, and applications can be submitted at the dementia care center serving the applicant’s registered address.
