The government will launch a three-month, interagency special crackdown on drugs beginning Aug. 1 in response to a sharp increase in ketamine seizures. The crackdown will focus on three areas: blocking inflows from overseas, enforcement at clubs and entertainment establishments, and intensive enforcement against the illegal distribution of drugs for medical use. In particular, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety plans to use an AI-based integrated drug control system to monitor the illegal distribution of ketamine and other drugs in real time.
