The AI drug development platform Deep Drug Discovery identified two Alzheimer disease drug candidates from a library of 1 million molecules. The candidates activated autophagy independently of mTOR and efficiently crossed the blood-brain barrier (BBB). In animal model experiments, both compounds removed amyloid beta and tau protein aggregates and restored memory function, demonstrating their potential for developing new treatments.
