Researchers at Stanford University School of Medicine designed TCIP3, a bifunctional molecule that converts BCL6, a protein that drives B-cell lymphoma, into a molecule that induces cell death. TCIP3 physically linked BCL6 with P300 or CBP, proteins that add acetyl marks, promoting the expression of cell-death genes. The researchers administered it twice daily to mice implanted with human lymphoma cells and completely eliminated the tumors in 11 days.
