The National Institute of Animal Science established a transgenic cell line in which one immune-rejection gene was removed and two human genes were inserted. The institute confirmed that adenosine, an anti-inflammatory substance, increased by up to 26-fold compared with the control group in this cell line. The National Institute of Animal Science plans to use the cell line to produce transgenic cloned pigs.
