Merck failed to meet the primary endpoint in a phase 2 trial of tulisokibart, an anti-TL1A antibody it acquired for $10.8 billion (approximately 15 trillion won). Merck obtained the antibody through its 2023 acquisition of Prometheus Biosciences and began broad clinical development. Along with the successful phase 2b trial in hidradenitis suppurativa, Merck expects to complete the phase 2 rheumatoid arthritis trial next month and the phase 2 spondyloarthritis trial in June 2027.
