Transplanting senescent macrophages deficient in Lamtor5 into young mice accelerated systemic aging. Reduced Lamtor5 induced cGAS activation, increasing SASP and ultimately leading to inflammation and impaired tissue function. The research team developed a small peptide that inhibits the interaction between Lamtor5 and cGAS, suggesting its potential development as a treatment for aging-related diseases.
