Bio News

A study has reported that FOXA1 acts as a pioneer factor for HIF1α in HDAC5-deficient pancreatic cancer. When HDAC5-mediated deacetylation of FOXA1 K270 is inhibited, hyperacetylated FOXA1 binds to HIF1α target genes and activates the pathway. Targeting these changes with an LSD1 or HIF1α inhibitor suppressed tumor growth in pancreatic cancer models, suggesting a new treatment strategy.
