A survey by the Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharma Manufacturers Association’s AI New Drug Research Institute found that 89% of South Korea’s pharmaceutical and biotech industry is using or planning to adopt AI for drug development. However, 67% of respondents said their drug development departments have no AI specialists, identifying a lack of personnel as a barrier. The need for AI training was consequently high at 91%, and the association plans to focus on developing specialized personnel through the LAIDD education platform.
