The Ministry of Health and Welfare will fully revise the innovation-based pharmaceutical company certification system for the first time in 14 years, raising the threshold for research and development spending as a percentage of revenue by 2 percentage points. The revision will simplify the evaluation criteria from 25 to 17 and establish a new certification category for foreign-affiliated innovation-based pharmaceutical companies. Applications will be accepted from Aug. 18 through Sept. 18, and the ministry plans to complete the new certifications by the end of the year.
