Claris Biotherapeutics has raised 177 billion won in a Series B financing to secure funding for a phase 3 clinical trial of its rare eye disease treatment candidate CSB-001. The candidate is an eye drop treatment for limbal stem cell deficiency (LSCD), a condition in which the corneal stem cells are depleted, and the company plans to begin a pivotal phase 3 trial in the first half of 2027. At least 30,000 patients are estimated to have the condition in the United States alone, and the company also plans to pursue an initial public offering (IPO) before announcing the phase 3 data.
