Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety has been included on the WHO’s temporary list of recognized regulatory authorities for medical devices (tWLA). The list includes 12 countries, including the United States and the European Union, marking another achievement following Korea’s inclusion on the WLA list for pharmaceuticals in October 2023. If it is formally designated as a WLA in the future, the listing is expected to help enhance international confidence in Korean-made medical devices and increase exports.
