A dual-function PD-1 CAR-T therapy has been developed that eliminates T cells responsible for multiple sclerosis and releases IL-10. The treatment targets and eliminates PD-1-positive T cells while secreting IL-10 only at sites of inflammation. Its ability to alleviate neuroinflammation was confirmed in an animal model, drawing attention as a new treatment strategy for autoimmune diseases.
