Novo Nordisk has discontinued development of a single-formulation version of the GLP-1/amylin combination drug CagriSema but is maintaining its plan for a launch in early 2027. The treatment, which combines semaglutide and cagrilintide, is expected to be supplied through a dual-chamber system, with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval anticipated in the fourth quarter of this year. Following CagriSema, Novo Nordisk plans to launch the dual agonist zenagamtide, which has entered Phase 3 clinical trials, to strengthen its position in the obesity treatment market.
