Bio News

A study published in the international journal Nature found that tertiary lymphoid structures (TLSs) formed by B cells are responsible for the rapid deterioration of kidney function in diabetic kidney disease. The structures were found to serve as key hubs for abnormal immune responses that cause chronic inflammation and tissue damage in the kidneys. The discovery opens the possibility of developing therapies with a novel mechanism that directly targets B cells, signaling a potential shift in the existing treatment paradigm.
