The American Biotech Innovation Alliance (ABIA), comprising 21 U.S. biotech companies and institutions, has officially launched. In response to China’s control of 80% of the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) supply for antibiotics, ABIA will publish a report addressing regulatory policy, capital formation and other issues. Through industry consensus, the alliance plans to develop a national strategy to maintain U.S. leadership in the biotechnology industry.
